CARRIAGE HOUSE

Take a step back in time to the late 1800’s – early 1900’s. See how local people traveled before automobiles came along. A display of local wildlife. Look through the windows & doors of a 100 yr old scale model local dairy barn. Marvel at the old hand tools. See items of interest from the Springville Dygert Stables and Racetrack, site of the 1860’s Erie County Fair and also where Olympian Jim Thorpe trained in 1911 &1912. Also on display is the racing sulky that Dewey Dygert drove racehorse Guy K. Protector to set a 1957 world record of 2.01 minutes for the mile.
